MODEL 42 - DROP SPREADERS

For every purpose-turf manager to homeowner-Model 42 spreaders make accurate, professional applications of dry free-flowing materials.

With an approximate 225-pound capacity, Model 42 spreaders accurately sow seed, apply fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides, and using interchangeable fixed-rate bottoms with optional spread plate shut-off, overseed and spread dry top dressing and dry lime. Even in winter Model 42 spreads sand or salt to make walkways, parking lots and driveways safer.

Stainless steel snap-off bottoms, standard with each adjusting cam gauge to set the metering apertures uniformly across the 42-inch hopper bottom. The triangular openings of the adjustable bottoms are designed for precision applications of granular chemicals, fertilizer or seed.

Other features include positive shut-off, a standard spreadplate, optional jigglers to insert inside the hopper to reduce bridging, optional calibration pan for catching and calibrating material, and the choice of either 16-inch pneumatic tires or 20 and 26-inch wheels with semi-pneumatic tires.

When it comes time to clean, Model 42 spreaders disassemble without tools. Wing nuts release retainers holding bearing and rotors adjustable stainless steel bottoms resist corrosion and snap off for easy cleaning. A truly professional spreader, Model 42 is ideal for use with utility y and lawn tractors. Also available with push handle.

To overseed or apply dry top dressing, snap off the adjustable bottom and an optional fixed-rate bottom of 3/16-inch to 1 1/2-inch opening size snaps in its place. (Spreadplate shutoff package required.)Fixed-rate bottoms permit overseeding on golf tees at 20-40 pound rate, on greens at 60-80 pound rate or any other variable. The larger fixed-rate opening bottoms are for applications of dry lime and dry top dressing.

Optional dual rims for 20 or 26-inch wheels attach to main wheel for twice as much flotation. Available with semi-pneumatic tires.

Apply Fertilizer Uniformly
Over Open Grass

Open turf grass areas need professional care as well to maintain the total appearance of park, estate or golf course. That appearance can depend on correct applications of fertilizer as well as lime, granular chemical and overseeding applications by Gandy 10T series spreaders.

Gandy spreaders assure a uniform application pattern to achieve a uniform-looking turf. Streaking common in spinner application is eliminated, as Gandy spreaders eliminate the use of centrifugal force which throws phosphate and potash particles further than the lighter nitrogen granules and leaves tell-tale light and dark green stripes.

To apply the granules evenly and at the recommended rate, Gandy spreaders are equipped with a precision metering system. Hopper bottom and slide are die cut as mated pairs at the factory and never separated. Patented diamond-shaped openings are 1 1/2-inches long at maximum, centered 4-inches apart. A cam gauge acts directly upon the rate control slide, setting and locking the openings recommended size for your material, rate and application speed. Shur-feed rotors, especially designed to reduce shearing or grinding of materials, maintain a constant flow of material.

With Gandy 10T series spreaders, not only do you have a choice of model sizes 6, 8, 10 or 12-foot, but a choice in adaptations as well: Trailing models: 3-pt. hitch units with drive wheels at end: 3-pt. hitch with electric or hydraulic drive; and implement mounted with electric or hydraulic drive. Hydraulic shutoff is furnished with mounted units and is available for trailing and 3-pt. hitch models furnished with hand shutoff levers.

For accuracy, uniformity, convenience and long service life, choose the 10T model which suits your turf management program.

MODEL 24 & 36 - DROP SPREADERS

Model 24 & 36 spreaders
add versatility to
Gandy turf equipment.

These 24-inch and 36-inch width models are easy to maneuver around ornamentals and small lawns areas with push handles. Model 36 is available with tractor hitch for other applications.

Holding approximately 78 and 120 pounds respectively, Models 24 and 36 feature corrosion resistant stainless steel bottoms which snap off for quick cleaning. They completely disassemble without tools, with all parts replaceable.

Other features include a handy lift handle to assist in loading or unloading the spreader, even when there is material in the hopper. Pneumatic or semi-pneumatic tires are available for both models. Options include a spreadplate package and fixed rate bottoms.

Also...
 Jigglers to agitate materials that might tend to bridge are optional and attach inside the hopper against the rotor. Available for all models.

4 & 5-Foot High Clearance
Nursery Special Spreader

These 4 and 5-foot spreaders are specially designed to apply materials over containerized and other bedded stock, allowing 34 to 36-inches of above-ground clearance. The 4-foot model has approximately 260 lb. capacity, the 5-foot model, approximately 325 lb. capacity. Each model is equipped with a two-person pull-type handle with shutoff in easy reach.

Precision-matched bottom and slide feature 1-inch diamond-shaped openings spaced 2.352-inches apart in the 4-foot and 2.260-inches apart in the 5-foot. Two internal rotors are independently driven from the 16-inch pneumatic tires. Caster wheels are mounted to the front of the unit for easy maneuverability, plus rear stabilizers are provided for balance.

4 Foot Nursery Special Spreader

For nurseries, vegetable growers and research work, the nursery special spreader Model 6504NS makes accurate, professional applications of fertilizer, granular material, and seed.

The 4-foot hopper, with approximate 260 lb. capacity, has wheels with adjustable spacing 50-1/2 to 73-inches center-to-center. It is equipped with extended handles or tractor hitch and is available with 20-inch (8-inch ground clearance) or 26-inch (11-inch ground clearance) semi-pneumatic tires. Precision-matched bottom and slide feature 1-inch diamond-shaped openings spaced 2.352-inches apart and precision cam gauge metering.
